I love Air Jordan Shoes!!!

Some may know and some may not know I am a big  Air Jordan shoe fanatic. I've had over 13 pairs in my adult life. It all started when I was in College because as a child I would beg my mom to buy me a pair and she always told me "NO" because she talked about how expensive they were and that "Mr.Jordan is not paying her bills and how she was not going to pay his bills". Real talk, I could see where she was coming from but I've always admired the style of the shoe. I told myself when I had gotten enough money I was going to buy me a pair, then 2, 3, 4, and so on I did. I would buy so many almost every month because I could, but not looking at how materialistic I had become. Knowing in the back of my mind I can't wear every pair of  those shoes at the same time. I remember as a child always getting shoes 2 times a year for back to school and my birthday.
I was getting caught up in my wants instead of my needs because I had let something that started out as a hobby become an obsession that I believed that I needed to always buy me a pair because I couldn' t get them when I was child . When you young and making your own money you sometimes blow it on foolish things because you can. As I look back spending $150 on a pair of shoes almost every month could had been something saved up for a rainy day. I had to break those selfish habits and deal with reality so I can become a whole person again. A few months ago I gave away13 pairs of my Jordan shoes that was in good condition to the Salvation Army and kept 2 pairs to myself because it was not worth having anymore because those shoes didn't define who I am as person which is a giving individaul. I understand now why my mom didn't buy those shoes because she didn't want me to become materialist but humble and let people see me for who I am and not for what I have on my feet.
